ABOUT ME - REUBEN

My journey into the world of educational toys began at a young age when, as a six-year-old, I transformed boredom into creativity. I constructed a treehouse from loose shelves, nails, and a borrowed hammer, which eventually led to my passion for crafting.

Instead of reprimanding me for my unconventional start, my parents provided me with a mini workbench and hand-me-down tools, encouraging me to repurpose driftwood, recycle old furniture, and utilise off-cuts from hardware stores. By the age of eleven, I was operating a stall at my school's annual fair, showcasing wooden toys and jewellery.

As I grew older, I explored various industries, from farming to hospitality, all of which expanded my skill set. These diverse experiences expanded my knowledge base considerably, eventually leading me to the field of childcare.

In 2017, I returned to my true passion for toy making when I noticed a growing demand for natural and wooden educational resources in childcare settings. Inspired by the children in my care I began crafting educational toys, starting things off with a book and a large 3D skeleton puzzle, with my offering growing considerably in the years since.

I’ve worked with children of various needs levels throughout my education career, and I know how important it is for educational experiences to be tailored to each child’s individual developmental and emotional level. My courses and resources have been carefully designed to have play at their centre, but with a long term view towards a well-rounded, holistic education for each and every child.
