Forest Play Set
FOREST HABITAT PLAY SET
Size of the forest habitat play set: 65cm x 82cm x 120cm (Width, Height, Length)
My design process:
The reason I settled on a nature based themed play set is that I wanted to encourage
the thought pattern in children to ponder of how we all fit into the natural
environment. I design the play set to be large enough to be able to include as many
different play types as possible, entice children to express their creativity by building
race tracks, construct their own version of a dolls house or perform plays/story tell.
SAFETY FEATURES:
The four main feature I have added to enhance safety as well as functional ease of
use.
The first is the wheels at the base to help transport the forest habitat play set to
different areas.
The second is that all corners, edges and sides have been rounded to minimise risk.
The reasoning being that we either know a child or like me, were that child who could
always find the pointy corners of things with their forehead.
The third feature is the whittle hard wax finish which is food safe, containing no
biocidal substances or preservatives.
The fourth is the width of the base, while still being narrow enough to fit through
doorways is still wide enough to prevent accidental tipping when pulled. This due to
the width the base and wheels, paired with the play sets weight (30kgs)
